KERBSIDE COLLECTION – Glaze

Direttamente dal Queensland, gli australiani Kerbside Collection ci danno un primo assaggio del loro quarto album con il nuovo singolo “Glaze”, fuori per l’etichetta Légère Recordings.

Australian ‘down-under’ dusty jazzfunk and gritty rare grooves ensemble ‘Kerbside Collection’ return on their 4th studio album (written and constructed during the last 12-18 months of the cv-19 climate), with the first offering and taste – ‘Glaze’. Along with some of the stories and sentiments based around this time, there’s also the distinctive attributes of their slightly rusty, sunny, golden, Australian coastal grooves that we’ve come to know and dig from this funky combo (as found on their previous tasty ‘Smoke Signals’ album). The crunchy, gritty, analog, rhythm section sits underneath a cruisy 70’s style Stevie Wonder-ish groove, set up by an interesting duo of clavinet organ and bass clarinet, alongside silky flute, Fender rhodes, and jazzy guitar flourishes, sprinkled with lush cinematic strings and percussion giving a hint to what kind of things to expect on this special new record out on modern funk and soul label Légère Recordings. Glaze conjures up some of the sun-drenched qualities of down-under, taking you away to the South Pacific with some of its slightly nostalgic qualities, for fans of classic 4hero, early Jamiroquai and vintage Mizzell Brothers cinematic funk moments. Lush and laid-back. Current support from the likes of Jazzanova, Chris Gill & Ennio Styles. “Sounding fantastic! . . 4hero vibes on this one.“ (Ennio Styles – Stylin’ RRR FM / Heard & Felt / WWFM Melbourne)
